What a great guy.
I had never met Coach Smith before but it became quickly apparant what a geniune guy he is.
Raised in rural Florida, he attended Pfieffer University.
He started coaching at an assistant Belmont-Abbey, before taking over as head coach.
He then went on the lead Lander University.
He is entering his 10th year at App State.

Kermit Smith is the head baseball coach at Appalachian State University. The spring of 2026 will be his 10thseason. Prior to App State he was the head coach at both Lander University and Belmont Abbey.
